963 Missions has joined with OC International to organize 2-3 trips to Huehuetenango and Antigua in Guatemala . The purpose of these trips are to support the 963 Coffee Project by allowing individuals and/or groups to see how Fair Wage Coffee makes a difference and then to come back to the U.S. to be a voice. These trips are slated to take place during the summer of 2008.
963 desires to take Fair Wage Coffee advocates on a 9-10 day trip to visit our farms in Guatemala . Participants will learn about coffee, work with coffee farmers, and minister to the people in the farming communities. We will begin assembling teams immediately!! Once a team reaches our target number of 20-22 team members, that team and location will be closed to new applicants. So don't wait too long to get that application in!!!
Once teams are formed, the team leader will organize regular bi-weekly phone meetings to assist in the preparation process. Such things as cultural sensitivity, fundraising strategies, and logistical preparation will be discussed during this time.
All trips will be approximately $1,500 in total cost. You can get specific cost information under the ‘Location and Details' tab.
